in the UK there isnt much of an opportunity to demo stuff in your home. its
not the done thing unless you spend a fortune and have personal service, you
demo in the shop and buy, then buyer beware.
the room it will go in when i move is actually 25 feet long, but half of it
is a dining area so i only need to fill 12-15 feet x 10 feet with a nice sound.
if i get a brennan or imerge i wont be using the internal amps so i just
need to know if they work as they should without huge quality loss. all i can do
about the sound bars is read online reviews. so far Yamaha are coming out on top
and have an 'intelli beam' system on the remote. you press the button when you
sit down and it alters its set up so your location is the centre. clever if it
works. most reviews do say that none of the bars are as good as a full 5.1
system, but are far better than a TV's in built speakers and good for
audio.
i've looked into wireless 5.1 systems, but the cost is just too much for me
to justify even though i now only have to justify it to myself.
