The 2012 SIHH PuristSPro Live Report
- Jon Z. (Z3)
Piaget
This year Piaget continues its effort for
pushing the boundary of thinness to the extreme - the result is the Altiplano
Automatic Skeleton, which holds the record for being the world's thinnest
self-winding skeleton watch (at a mere 5.34mm) with a world's thinnest automatic
skeleton movement (2.4mm)
Although ultra-thin watches do not personally
resonate with me, I do applaud Piaget's admirable and successful effort to push
on this frontier.
The Gouveneur line - a versatile dress line
(with case size of 43mm). The three models are time-only automatic, chronograph,
and tourbillon moonphaes
The All-Black Polo Forty Five (complete with
the black-finished movement) - stunning!
Altiplano ultra thin
A dazzlying diamond high jewelry piece, set
with baguette diamonds, with skeletonized dial and micro-rotor on the front - a
proper reminder that Piaget is as much as a master jeweler as it is a competent
watch manufacture!
Hope you have enjoyed the post.
Yours Truly,
Jon Z. (Z3)

Micro rotor

I like their micro-rotor movements. Not many other companies do micro-rotors to my best knowledge....apart from PF. Or did i miss somebody? best, Stefan
A few others do it
By: Z3 : January 24th, 2012-23:04
Chopard LUC does quite a bit of it, Patek does it, and Roger Dubuis... just a few names that came to mind.
Thanks for the information

I was aware of Patek but forgot Chopard and Roger Dubuis. I am fond of micro rotor movements... Best, Stefan
Great report!

Thanks, Jon! I love your pictures and particularly appreciate the ones of the new skeleton Altiplano! That's an amazing watch! Piaget's abilities in the realm of the ultra-thin never cease to amaze! I think the new Governeur line will be popular, as the c...
