Six-sided Beauties

Shaped watches are perhaps not for everyone.  Those comfortable with wearing an uncommonly shaped timepiece are often confident in themselves and their own tastes.  I like those kind of people!  Piaget is a brand confident in its watchmaking and artistic prowess, so it's natural that they offer timepieces housed in less common cases.  I'm pleased to share some photos of hexagonal watches powered by the famous ultra-thin caliber 9P from Piaget's Private Collection.

Enjoy!

An elegant option! Notice the same pattern displayed on bezel and bracelet!

This one is my favorite -- a pietersite dial.

Which model do you like best?  What do you think about watches that are not round or rectangular/square?  Do you like uncommon watch shapes?

Piaget unusual hexagon watches but still haute horologerie

I like the funkiness of hexagonal watches from Piaget because few other brands have haute horlogerie products of this shape and thin-ness. They have the ultra-thin and famous 9P movement inside, one of the thinnest mechanical movements ever. Also they put...

My favorites are the one with the a pietersite dial and the last one with the mother of pearl dial. The watch with the a pietersite dial, I'm just drawn into the dial. Its such an unsual looking material that I forgot about the case shape. If I found a pa...

The myriad colors and patterns inherent in the stone make the dial interesting from every angle. There's something to discover in every facet of the dial. The MOP dial is so zany and fun. I would love that watch on a man in a black (or white) tux! You cou...

What is the case size, Daos?

 By: AndrewD : April 14th, 2011-01:27
Without a wrist shot, it's hard to tell. Which paradoxically means that Piaget got the proportions correct. It's great to mix up traditional horology a little. Striking designs. Andrew

Not sure, but will check.

It's got to be a moderately-sized piece, nothing too outlandish! I am going to ask for the dimensions and get back to you. Cheers, Daos

shadowprince2000, These Piaget hexagonal and hard stone dial watches with gold bracelet are very rare and I have never seen one outside the Piaget museum. Thus, your post of a real one in real use is even more rare. Most Piaget customers are not like fans...

Smooth and Robust

 By: shadowprince2000 : June 28th, 2014-12:37
As expected from a first class category , the finishing of the bracelet is smooth on the the 9P movement although 2 mm thick ,but it is sturdy enough to be used everyday..

Wow that is stunning....
