Piaget Polo Taste Test: SURVEY

Jul 19, 2009,02:56 AM

Over 30 years, there have been many variations of the Piaget Polo watch.

1979 Piaget Polo

Originally with integrated bracelet in precious metals only and a 7P quartz movement, updates were introduced in 2001 and 2009.

There are also chronograph and tourbillon versions in the Polo range.

I'm interested to know what you would choose if only ONE variation of the Current TIME / DATE models allowed. There are 3 basic groups:

GROUP 1: Piaget Polo in precious metals with integrated bracelet

White Gold

Yellow Gold

GROUP 2: Piaget Polo in precious metals with leather strap

Two-tone White and Pink Gold

GROUP 3: Piaget Polo FortyFive Automatic 45mm Titanium case with rubber strap

Piaget Polo FortyFive Automatic Titanium case White Dial

Piaget Polo FortyFive Automatic Titanium case Black Dial

PART 1: Which Group would you choose?

1: Integrated Bracelet

2: Leather Strap

3: FortyFive

PART 2: What metal and dial colour?  (FortyFive is only in Titanium)

YG: Tellow Gold  or  WG: White Gold  or  PG: Pink Gold

WD: Silvered White Dial  or  BD: Black Dial

Example Answer in Subject line:    Group 2 WG BD is Leather Strap; White Gold and Black Dial.

Diamonds are Optional smile

I left it open for both Gents and Ladies......

Thanks,

MTF

The moderator chooses an Integrated Bracelet, White Gold, Silvered White Dial model with Diamonds. But I cheated a little as it is a Limited Edition (150 pieces) Ref G0A34043 Two-hand watch with 534P thin automatic movement in an elegant 38mm case. Issued...

The bezel of the G0A34041 is in pink gold with a slate grey PVD treatment. The PVD treatment has a thickness of 1 to 2 microns, and enables a hardness of 1'500 to 2'000 Vickers. Thanks to this very thin layer, the watch still bears the 750 (18K) gold hall...

In this catagory I would intend this watch to be my dress watch as opposed to more of a sports watch.

There are many possible variants but

Like hippogriffs and labradoodles, these watches are myths........ No? Photos please...... MTF

how do you prove "non-existence?"

 By: ThomasM : July 23rd, 2009-19:37
Like the Hippogriff and labradoodles, just because you (or I) haven't seen one, doesn't "prove" they don't exist. I've been told by those who should know that indeed some (very few) do exist; I've seen pictures but never seen or held the real thing. But a...

Sorry but my answer may be a little biased since that's what I have on my wrist as I type this msg. I'd definitely choose a rubber strap variant because the Piaget Polo FortyFive is one of the most comfortable watches I've ever strapped to my wrist. Cheer...
