Piaget stand a little outside the mainstream of haute horlogerie brands. With a foot in both the serious-watchmaking and bespoke-joaillerie camps, Piaget's overall brand persona tends a little more to the decorative than the horological. And yet they have always been, and remain, a fully-fledged manufacture with considerable expertise in the fields of ultra-thin and complicated watchmaking. In recent years Piaget seem to have been making efforts to redress this reputational imbalance, by releasing in each se... more

PuristSPro's 2010 SIHH Live Reporting by Z3 Piaget 2010 Novelties In recent years everything has gotten bigger and bulkier. Piaget's expertise in thin calibers is not solely a technical achievement -- thin for thin's sake is not enough for a brand that prides itself on not only technical excellence, but aesthetic inventiveness. Piaget's ultra-thin calibers serve as an inception point for daring, and visually dynamic timepieces like those to be unveiled in full at SIHH 2010. Piaget Altiplano Double Jeu 43mm World travelers rejoice. Imagine a precious metal dress watch of slender proportions in height, but ... more

So, in that cheery spirit, what do YOU think Piaget should present for 2010? For the original post in Piaget forum, please CLICK HERE ... more

I had a great time meeting the good people at Piaget during the recent PuristSPro and Piaget event featuring a Louis XIII de Rémy Martin tasting. It was also fantastic to meet some fellow PuristS and their significant others in person. There were several pieces from the Polo line that caught my eye. I offer two below. Even in black & white the diamonds are dazzling. One of the most whimsical and free-spirited timepieces from Piaget's Dancer series is below. I love t... more
